In 2023, my friend Pétur Kári Hannesson and I released two personal music projects on SoundCloud. To our surprise (and slight disbelief), both tracks became popular among teenagers in Iceland. As the songs started circulating, we began getting invited to perform live at a variety of events ranging from school dances to private parties.
What started as a small creative experiment quickly turned into one of the most rewarding and entertaining parts of my year.

Lúdó is the multimedia society at my high school. I joined as a freshman and helped produce two songs during my first year. I am now the president and have overseen the creation of our most recent releases, which include one song and two videos. We currently have nearly a thousand monthly listeners, and our most popular track has over 30,000 streams on Spotify.

I have sold a handful of beats, along with sampling rights, to three different clients. I also set up a small makeshift studio in my bedroom where I offer recording hours and mixing services. It has become a place where I can experiment, collaborate, and continue improving my production skills.

Most memorable performance
The image to the right captures my most unforgettable live rap performance. I was 16, a freshman performing with Lúdó in front of over 400 students. It was by far the largest crowd I had rapped for up to that point, and the energy in the room was electric. The stage lights, the cheers, and the roar of applause created a rush that I had never experienced before.
Every practice session and late night spent perfecting lyrics and beats felt worth it in that moment. Standing on stage, I felt a surge of pride in what I had accomplished and in the connection the music created with the audience. It is a memory I carry with me every time I perform.
